About Us
For more than 160 years, Valmont Community Presbyterian Church has been a community of faith in Boulder, Colorado. Through generations of change, one thing has remained at the heart of who we are: a desire to follow Jesus Christ faithfully, care for one another, and serve the community around us.
We are a small church with a long story, a close-knit community, and room for you.

Who We Are
Valmont Community Presbyterian Church is a small, welcoming congregation with deep roots in the Boulder community. We are a place where people of different ages, backgrounds, and life experiences come together to worship, grow in faith, care for one another, and serve our neighbors.
Whether you have been part of a church your whole life or are simply looking for a place to belong, there is room for you at Valmont.
Our Purpose
Love God. Care for Others. Be Christ’s Witness to the World.
This simple purpose guides our life together. We seek to grow in our relationship with God, support one another through every season of life, and live out our faith through compassion, service, and love for our community.
What We Believe
Valmont is a Christian congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), rooted in the Reformed tradition and centered on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
We believe God’s grace is at the heart of the Christian faith, Scripture continues to shape and challenge us, and faith is something we grow into throughout our lives. We value thoughtful worship, honest questions, compassionate relationships, and putting our faith into action in the world around us.
Above all, we seek to follow Christ with humility, hope, and love.

Our History
Valmont Presbyterian Church was established in 1863 as Boulder Valley Presbyterian Church and is Colorado’s oldest continually meeting Presbyterian congregation. From its earliest days in the small community of Valmont, the church has been a center for worship, fellowship, and community life.
The congregation’s first church building was constructed in 1866, with later additions and renovations serving generations of worshipers. In 1979, the historic church building was destroyed by fire. That loss became a defining moment for the congregation, reinforcing a truth Valmont continues to carry today: the church is not a building, but a people.
For more than 160 years, Valmont has remained a small, faithful community made up of longtime local families, newcomers, students, retirees, and families with children—all continuing a tradition of worship, service, and life together.
